New things, even a good one like counseling, can be intimidating & make us nervous. Below are some questions that you may have before contacting me.

Couples, Individuals, and Families Counseling from a Catholic Christian perspective in Flower Mound

Do you only see Catholic/Christian clients?

No, I don’t. My clients come from different backgrounds - ethnic, cultural, religious, and spiritual. I meet my clients where they are. However, suppose they choose to incorporate their Catholic/Christian faith in the sessions, I welcome the opportunity to provide an environment where individual clients can share their faith comfortably with me, or couples can share and learn how their faith and relationship goals intersect their lives together.

How does therapy work?

People pursue counseling or therapy for various reasons, including crises, significant life changes, unpredictable events, internal irritations, relationship difficulty, personal growth, etc. In the first few sessions, I will note your strengths, attachment history, stressors, relationship patterns, unmet emotional needs, and what you desire to accomplish through therapy. Together, we will plan how to get you from where you are now to where you want to be (your therapy goal).

To make the therapy works effectively, I meet with you once a week for 50 minutes. This weekly meeting is crucial to address the immediate concerns/crisis, lay the foundation for a solid therapeutic relationship, and build good momentum. Please know that I don’t want you to be in therapy forever. I want you to get better as soon as possible.

Is therapy right for me?

You may be familiar with the phrase “knowledge is power.” We can use it to answer whether therapy is right for you. It means the more we know what we are dealing with, the more we can intentionally do something about it. I emphasize “intentional” because it makes our response to a situation differently.

If you feel stuck, therapy can help you get “unstuck” by revealing HOW you see things, which dictates WHAT you feel and do. We will examine your reactive thinking patterns, feeling, doing, and relating together. After gaining that knowledge, we can devise a strategy to see and do things differently. Changing a lifetime habit or perspective would not be easy, but it is doable. It’s like learning a new language that takes practice. You won’t be doing it alone. I will be there with you on your journey to hope and healing, offering guidance and companionship.

Are we a good fit?

That is a question that only you can answer! From my experience, I work really well with most of my clients, but there were a few clients who didn’t share the same experience.

The strongest predictor of successful counseling is the quality of the therapeutic relationship between the client(s) and their therapist. Your feeling about our relationship matter. Do you feel comfortable sharing the most vulnerable part of your life with me? Do you feel safe and heard?

Trust your gut and be honest with yourself. Please let me know if you still don’t feel that you are connecting with me after a few sessions. I could refer you to another therapist who may better serve you. Remember, therapy is about you and your well-being!

What is your rate? And do you take insurance?

My fee:

$120 for a 60-minute session of individual and couple counseling (in person or online).

$150 for a 75-minute session of family counseling (in person only)

I am in-network with Cigna, Aetna, and United Healthcare. It is the client’s responsibility to verify their insurance benefits.

Where do sessions take place?

I offer both in-person and online sessions. In-person sessions are held at my office at 2201 Spinks Road, Suite 164, Flower Mound, TX 75022. Online sessions for couples and individuals (who are in Texas at the time of counseling) will be done through Simple Practice Telehealth. It is secure and HIPAA-compliant, meaning your privacy is 100% guaranteed. A video link provided per session can be accessed via computer, tablet, or phone.

What is your cancellation or missed appointment policy:

If you cannot attend your scheduled appointment, please call, text, or email me at least 24 hours in advance to avoid being charged the full session fee. If you miss your appointment or show up more than 15 minutes late for your counseling session, it may be considered a missed appointment, and you will be charged the full session fee.
